South Korea’s Seongnam City To Provide Citizenship Rights Through NFTs

According to local media reports, Seongnam is South Korea’s 12th most populated city. It plans to recreate the town in the metaverse and grant NFT citizenships to provide access to municipal information.

According to the city’s plans, the service will be ready for launch in the metaverse around May or June next year. Citizens will have easier access to more municipal information thanks to the NFT citizenships, which were created to promote the virtual world city.

The Seongnam city government says the NFTs will be determined in October. Seoul is building a virtual city in the metaverse. It held a test of its virtual presence last month. Seongnam is a satellite city of the country’s capital, Seoul, with nearly one million residents.
