The Philippines may see an exodus of corporate workers to the metaverse, says a recent study by Ciena (NYSE: CIEN). The report said many Filipino workers chose to work in the metaverse over traditional companies.
As many as 89% of surveyed employees revealed that video conferencing tools are responsible for an increase in their productivity. Avoiding the need for long commutes to work saves time and money, leading to greater productivity at work, 44% of respondents said.
“Filipino professionals are very comfortable with virtual meetings and early adopters,” said Dion Leung, regional director of Ciena in Southeast Asia.
