UAE Business: Dubai launches metaverse platform in $4bn tech drive

The platform is aligned with the Dubai Metaverse Strategy, which aims to add $4 billion to Dubai’s GDP. It supports the recently launched Dubai Economic Agenda D33, intended to generate an annual economic value worth AED 100 billion from digital transformation. The platform will support 40,000 virtual jobs by 2030 and attracts 1,000 companies specializing in blockchain and metaverse technologies. Creating a DIFC Metaverse platform will help Dubai reach its aspirations in this sector.

The first accelerator program with a dedicated physical studio for metaverse technology. It will also address metaverse policy development and legislation on open data, digital identity, and company law frameworks in the metaverse. The initiative will foster the development of a metaverse community. It will explore ways to enhance the metaverse experience for customers. The program is the first to be launched on the platform and will begin accepting applications this month.

DIFC FinTech Hive is the region’s most significant financial accelerator. It aids them by getting to know investors, trying partnerships, accessing regulator sandbox, and ingraining marketing support. The program received more than 100 globally registered applicants.

The Metaverse Accelerator Program is scheduled for six months. Start-ups will get the inside scoop and into metaverse stuff by joining training workshops. The program aims to create a proof of concept and new metaverse solutions.
