Second Life has been running for twenty or so years now. About 62 thousand people visit it daily. Now this virtual world, a predecessor to the modern metaverse, will soon expand to mobile platforms for the very first time.
Second Life mobile is coming to smartphones and tablets that run on iOS and Android.
The portable version, unlike the desktop one, is made in the Unity engine. The majority of the experience will transition from the desktop, though some compromises were made for the mobile version.
Second Life uses its own currency, the Linden dollar. This currency can be bought with real-life money, depending on the current exchange rate.
