Yuvraj Singh Launches His NFT Collection

With 2021 reaching its finale, the craze for non-fungible tokens is on a record-breaking high. Many celebrities are endorsing these blockchain tokens and the latest to join the bandwagon is ace Indian cricket player Yuvraj Singh. He chose his birthday to make the big announcement.

He took to Twitter to make the news official as his fans were sending congratulatory messages on his birthday. Former India all-rounder has partnered with a premium NFT digital marketplace called Colexion to launch the Yuvraj Singh NFT Collection.

He tweeted, “Being there from ball 1 to the time I decided to hang up my jersey, the fans have always been with me. Thank u for cheering in my highs & giving strength in my lows. On my b’day I’m proud to announce a special gift for u-Yuvraj Singh NFT Collection in partnership with @colexionNFT.”

The official launch date for this NFT collection is the 25th of December. Yuvraj has said in a promotional video that he believes NFTs are the present. Therefore, he went on to gift his fans an exclusive NFT collection.

Previously, Sunil Gavaskar had come up with his collection of non-fungible tokens that portrayed some landmark moments from his cricketing career. The NFTs included his 774 runs in a single tests series, Gavaskar becoming the first player to score 10,000 runs, and the record of the highest number of centuries (34) in test cricket, which he held for many years. London-based NFT specialist nftie designed and curated Gavaskar’s collection.

Many other cricketers have come up out with their collection of NFTs recently.

What are NFTs?

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a cryptographic token based on blockchain technology. The unique value and characteristics of NFTs set them apart and give them worth as digital assets. You can compare it to buying an antique or distinctive artwork.
