The main feature film competition comprises Asian Newcomers, Documentaries, Animation, and Short Films.
The organizers received nearly 8800 entries from over 128 countries and regions, with about 4500 for the canceled 2022 edition. There will be a training program, a project matching event, and a metaverse segment.
Shanghai Film Festival will feature the Belt and Road Initiative, an economic outreach program, and the Belt and Road Film Festival Alliance. Shanghai International Film Festival returns in 2023 for its 25th edition and 30th anniversary.
The festival will take place from June 9 to 18, 2023, and will feature a two-way trip between Chinese and World films.
