The famous star of Matrix, Keanu Reeves, says that he owns cryptocurrency, bought for him by a friend, declaring that he has a little hodl. The superstar also gave his views about the metaverse and non-fungible tokens.
While promoting the next installment of his well-known movie franchise, Keanu Reeves talks about Metaverse, Crypto, and Metaverse. Reeves and his co-star Carrie-Ann Moss gave an interview about the “The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience”, a game built by Epic Games, and what to expect from their upcoming Matrix movie. Both stars also emphasized how technology has blurred the lines between reality and virtual space.
Reeves also commented on Facebook rebranding itself as Meta by saying, “Can we just not have metaverse like be invented by Facebook?” According to him, the concept of the metaverse is older than that.
He was asked whether he thinks the original Matrix presented a dystopian view of the future. He agreed to the notion but also implied that content creation is different from the events taking place in real life.
The interviewer asked the stars if they owned any cryptocurrency, to which Moss didn’t reply, but Reeves admitted having some, which his friend bought for him.
Reeves was further inquired if he had done anything with that money yet. He responded by saying that he hadn’t need to. When explained what hodling means, he admitted, “Yeah, I have a little hodl.”
While talking about non-fungible tokens (NFTs), he said that he hadn’t seen the Matrix NFTs yet. However, he wondered if the actors were getting paid for it. As he gave his views on digital scarcity, he believed that NFTs could still be reproduced.
